Adventure elopement photography that helps you relive the day a million times over.

You’re here to tie the knot in a not-so-typical way.

But you need...

Guidance on where to elope.

Because let’s be honest: The Canadian Rockies are beyond stunning and there is more than one backdrop that’ll make for an insane adventure.

Help with permits and logistics.

Sifting through online forums and taking your best guess is a lot different from feeling 100% confident that you’re doing everything right.

Photographers who know the area like the back of their hands.

You don’t just want photos with mountains in the back. You want insanely creative wedding imagery that tells the entire story of your day and incorporates the location seamlessly wherever possible.

Enter Liz & Dom, the adventure besties behind elope wilder

HOw Elope wilder started

You know when you’ve been talking with someone for 30 seconds, but it feels like you’ve known them for years? That’s how our relationship, and Elope Wilder all started.

We became friends instantly– it all just clicked (no photography pun intended), and we knew we’d be great at encouraging couples who don’t want a big, traditional wedding day to ditch it in favour of something that feels more aligned with who they are.

We’d both been photographers for years, but knew pretty immediately that if we combined forces we’d be able to create absolute magic for couples looking for an adventure.

Combining our expertise in planning and photography with our knowledge of the Canadian Rockies and beyond, we set out with cameras in hand, and Sour Patch Kids in our pockets, ready to serve our clients with a fun, safe, and memorable experience.

ADVENTURE LOVER

My elopement story will tell you so much about me. So let’s start there.

I met my husband on an airplane going from Calgary to Chicago back in 2016. Fast forward to 2018, we secretly and spontaneously got married in front of our Christmas tree on winter solstice while wearing t-shirts.

The following summer, we had a backpacking elopement at a remote alpine lake in Kananaskis, Alberta. We had our daughter in 2020 and named her Aster after that alpine lake– because we’re sentimental like that.

I'm an experiences > things girlie, so needless to say, that’s one of the many reasons I feel so passionate about helping other couples craft a day that’s true to them and keeping the memory of their day alive through their photos that capture every detail.

When I'm not working, can find me camping, hiking, gardening, doing DIY acreage projects, or reading fantasy novels.

MOUNTAIN GOAT

Basically a human golden retriever—lots of energy, a little goofy and probably way too excited to see you. Ironically, I also have a golden retriever (Timber!). I'm a mountain girl with Nova Scotia roots (my accent comes out strong when I'm excited).

I'm in my element when I'm outdoors. Truth be told, I fell in love with the outdoors way before I fell for weddings. If you’re the kind of person who’d choose a mountaintop over a ballroom and trail maps over table decor—same here.

My photography journey started with a point-and-shoot and a whole lot of grass stains—just me, the mountains and way too many blurry shots of my dog mid-zoomies. My camera went everywhere with me.  I always felt the pull to photography, but fun twist—I was actually a First Responder for 10 years. That career showed me how short life can be and photos are all we have. When I found adventure elopements, I knew I found my dream job. It brought together everything I love: the outdoors, real connection, and storytelling. Now, I get to document couples who are doing things their own way—off the beaten path, with intention and heart.

When I'm not behind the camera, you can find me hiking, rock climbing, in a NERF war or lightsaber battle with my kiddos, petting all the dogs, or camping with a cup of a coffee in hand.
