Pre-Wedding Mountain Photos

Victoria & Josh have an intimate wedding planned for fall of 2025 but still were wanting to capture the mountain wedding photos of their dreams. They pictured themselves high on a mountain, just them and their dogs, watching the sun come up and being fully present with each other. We loved that Victoria & Josh chose to get these backcountry hut elopement photos done because we love when people follow their heart and do things their own way.

This is your reminder that you can do whatever you want when it comes to your wedding or elopement. Even if you chose to get married with friends and family, you can still have that intimate celebration of your own. So go ahead and plan a trip out to the mountains, a place that means so much to you and your relationship, and get those photos done.

British Columbia Backcountry Hut

We all headed up to this backcountry hut in BC early in August, ready to spend 3 nights together up in the hut. The nice thing about booking a hut for multiple nights is that we could play with weather windows and really get the best of all the weather we had. The forecast called for multiple days of rain but night 1 looked good, so once we got all settled in at the hut and got the lay of the land, we hiked up a ridge behind the hut for some sunset photos.

The sunset photos didn’t last long as a massive thunderstorm rolled in that had us all running back down the hill to the hut. We spent the rest of the evening and night watching and listening to one of the biggest and loudest thunderstorms any of us had ever seen.

The next morning, we hiked back up the ridge and crossed our fingers for a sunrise. We ended up having a gorgeous morning. Victoria and Josh cozied up together, ran and played with the dogs, and we captured some stunning memories for them.

We all spent the next couple days up at the hut playing cards, eating good food, exploring around, and just being present and re-setting. It truly was the best way to get the mountaintop wedding photos that they wanted and have a relaxed and incredible adventure.
